7N2UQC:
I could enjoy this contest.
And thanks to all who worked me.

----------------------------------------------------------------
9A2KO:
UFB NICE CONTEST

----------------------------------------------------------------
9V1UV:
Tried hard but only few qso's. Perhaps qrm at other end

----------------------------------------------------------------
AI9T:
We had thunderstorms on and off all day during the contest.
Static crashes were 10 over at times. I had to send AGN AGN
many times to work several stations. Thanks for all their patience.

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL0TTY:
Propagation was poor this weekend and but had some high lights on 40m
with ZL2AMI and VK6HQ. I really enjoyed the little pileups. Special
thanks to all who were kind enough to work me. 73 de Walter, DL4RCK

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL1THB:
Prima Kontest .. Danke

DL5CE:
dabei sein ist alles! 73!

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL6JZ:
It was a nice contest again. Good participation and
good operating practices by almost all operators.
But I could not reach my results of the last years event.
I missed the QSOs and mults on 10 m.
Highlight was VK6HD on 80 m.
See you next year.

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL6LZM:
Nice contest! Hope to see all next year again!

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL7BW:
Danke für die Ausrichtung des Contests. 73 ... bis zum nächsten DL-DX
-Contest.

----------------------------------------------------------------
DL9ST:
Bedingungen in Norddeutschland ziemlich mies.

----------------------------------------------------------------
F5RD:
I appreciated this contest. Working mainly Saturday evening and Sunday
morning. Running for C category this year (D in 2003). 10 m closed,
very hard to do 2 QSO's hi hi !!! Thanks to all who worked me. See y
ou again next year. F5RD Bernard

----------------------------------------------------------------
F6IRF:
Very poor condx all weekend :10m has been limited to a short E's openings and
15m has remained extremely quiet, with the exception of 9M2/G4ZFE, AP2IA and a
few JA/HL Sunday morning.
With nearly 50% of DX-stations, 20m has been once again the best band especialy
during the night, activity on 40 and 80 suffering from this. The good weekend
surprises: FO5PS, KH6GMP on 20, ZL2AMI, ZL4PW and again 9M2/G4ZFE on 40M. Other
weekend DX's A71EM, BX4AN, BX4AF, ET3TK, VR2UW, VR2BG, HS0ZDZ, TK/F6AUS...
(surprisingly did not find GU0SUP!). Congratulations to the German hams for the
activity (77qso's) coming just ahead of the W's (68 qso's) in my log. Well,
with a sunspot number between 30 and 40, it is finaly not that bad !

----------------------------------------------------------------
G0MGX:
Very poor conditions!

----------------------------------------------------------------
G0MTN/P:
Part time operation during radio club VHF National Field Day event.
Good conditions on 20m.

----------------------------------------------------------------
G3LDI:
Propagation not so good, nothing on 28 at all, a few
on 21.

----------------------------------------------------------------
G3OOK:
Poor band condx during the contest. Nothing at all heard on 10m.
Limited openings on 15m and a high static level on 40/80m!
Despite all this I enjoyed it and hope to take part next year!

----------------------------------------------------------------
G4EMT:
THANKS FOR THE NICE CONTEST

----------------------------------------------------------------
G4OGB:
Only my second attempt on Data, can you tell?
Claimed score allows for missing Ser for qso #1, and
qso (around #70?) where I thought I had worked him, only
to realize later that he was working DG4OGL!!

----------------------------------------------------------------
G4ZWX:
6 hour category an excellent thing - all contests should have this!

----------------------------------------------------------------
G7TMU:
Thanks for running the contest

----------------------------------------------------------------
GU0SUP:
Very poor conditions, but I still enjoyed the fun.
Also nice to catch up with those I met in Friedrichshafen
last weekend.

----------------------------------------------------------------
HA0GK:
Thanks for all QSO partners.See You on next contest !!!

----------------------------------------------------------------
IT9ORA:

Many tnx for a contest where "little pistol" as me, poor in antenna and trx,
are considered. Bye and at the next time in 2005. 73 de Marco IZ0EHL

----------------------------------------------------------------
K4GMH:
Thanks to the sponsor of the Contest for continuing the contest
for the second year. This was the first contest from the K4GMH QTH
since the tower and all the antennas were destroyed by Hurricane
Isabel last September. Unfortunately, the only antenna that has
been installed, so far, is the 2 element 40 meter yagi at the top
of the new tower.
Did try and use the antenna on 15 meters, but it isn't very
efficient on 15 meters and only able to work one station.
The antenna still needs final tuning, but did perform quite well.
Couple of surprises were being called by 4X/OK1FIA/P,
VK6HD at 2347Z and a short time later ET3TK.
40 meters on this end was very noisy.
Thanks to all, especially many of the European stations, that were
asked and were kind enough to provider multiple repeats.
Hopefully, additional antennas will be on the tower before the
next contest.

K5PAX:
LOTS OF FUN -- CU NEXT YEAR!

----------------------------------------------------------------
K8RT:
Nice contest. Software bugs caused the loss of several reports.
I have deleted those

----------------------------------------------------------------
KB1FUO:
First RTTY contest; appreciate the 6 hr & Dipole catagory.

----------------------------------------------------------------
KS0M:
Propagation was not very good. No JA's or VK calls heard. Heard a DU
and HS, but unable to work them. I worked 30 more calls this year and
increasd my score. Good contest. My thanks to the sponsors.

----------------------------------------------------------------
KU5B:
Great Contest! First RTTY/PSK31 contest ever operated and had a
blast. I will definately be doing this one again.

----------------------------------------------------------------
LX8M:

Thank you VK6HD for QSO's on 80 and 40m. 73!

----------------------------------------------------------------
VA3PC:
Limited time to operate in this contest.

----------------------------------------------------------------
VE3GSI:
This is a fun contest, the idea that operators can
choose there own class is good.
My amplifier quit near the end of the day, so I
packed it in a bit earlier then I wanted too.
All-in-all I am still happy with my score over last
years effort.

----------------------------------------------------------------
W1AJT/VE3:
Thanks for a good contest despite poor conditions.
I really like the 6 hour option.

----------------------------------------------------------------
W4ZE:
I had fun, only wish we had more sun spots to
help conditions.

----------------------------------------------------------------
W9HLY:
Pretty good conditions considering. Great fun.

----------------------------------------------------------------
ZL2AMI:
This was a very lonely contest from the South Pacific, there were
many hours with no contacts. The activity from the US and Japan was
low and I normally rely on these countries to keep the rates
ticking over. I just had to wait for Europe to return. Only 40m and
20m worked, 15m a few contacts and 10m quite dead.

DL-DX RTTY CONTEST 2004

CONTEST MANAGERS REPORT

This was the second run of the DL-DX RTTY CONTEST. We are pleased to report a considerable increase in participation. 336 logs were received. Thanks again to all participants for their continued interest in our contest.
The comments received again show that the 6 hour categories and those for use of limited aerials are especially appealing to many RTTY contesters. But again many entrants (30) did not take advantage of the 6 hour categories despite their operating times being less than 6 hours, while 21 of the entries for categories B and D clearly exceeded the 6 hour limit.

Propagation conditions were as expected for this time of the solar cycle. Yet a good amount of fine DX was available and workable. 9M2/G4ZFE, 9V1UV, A71EM, BX4AF, DU/G4DUM, ET3TK, FO5PS, HS0ZDZ, KH6GMP, NP4BM, OD5PL, VK3DBQ, VK6HD, VR2BG, XV1X and ZL2AMI/ZL2BR are just some examples. About 35% of all QSOs were from stations outside of Europe. The majority of these were made by North-American stations, followed by Asia and South America. Detailed graphical statistics can be viewed at URL: http://www.drcg.de/.

We are very pleased to report that at least 127 DL stations took part in the contest. Other major contributions came from (at least) 190 USA stations, 66 UA/UA9, 61 JA, 61 G/GI/GM/GU/GW, 55 I, 36 SP, 25 VE and 20 UR stations.
A total of 80 countries were active in the contest. Except for Antarctica all continents were worked.

The 336 stations submitting logs entered the 5 different categories as follows:

CATEGORY-A=104 CATEGORY-B=78 CATEGORY-C=55 CATEGORY-D=77 CATEGORY-E=6.
16 logs were received as checklogs. 174 stations used high power and 162 low power. Club competition was a new feature added to the contest.

While the majority of logs were in correct Cabrillo format there were also many logs that gave us a variety of problems. Callsigns were missing in emails and even logs. At least two stations sent us ADIF resp. Writelog .WL files. Many of the non-Cabrillo logs were using strange date formats requiring a lot of manual editing before they could be converted into Cabrillo format. Some people sent logs sorted by bands instead of time.
There was still a problem with the correct entry category. By all means read the rules and please follow the advice given many times. Several Cabrillo logs also needed manual editing by the log checkers. RST, both sent and received was missing, columns were not in the right place or order.

The 336 logs received show a total of 895 different callsigns (+27%) and of 53924 QSOs (+31%). 36500 QSOs representing 67.7% of the total were electronically cross checked.
Overall an average error rate of 6.61% was found. There were:

- 1249 wrong exchange errors (+43%) (serial numbers do not match)
- 1145 unique callsign errors(+42%) (calls appearing in less than 3 logs)
- 631 not-in-log errors (+94%) !!
- 196 duplicate QSO errors (+66%)
- 71 wrong band errors (time and serial numbers match but not bands)

resulting in a reduction of claimed scores. This amount of errors unfortunately shows a dramatic increase compared to the 2003 values. The contest organizers feel compelled to consider changes to the rules.

Certificates will be sent to the first ten stations in each category. The results listings and this report will be sent to all entrants by email.

In 2005 the DL-DX RTTY Contest will be held again on the first full weekend of July, - 2 July 1100 UTC to 3 July 1059 UTC. The rules shall be published on the DRCGs webpage http://www.drcg.de/.

This report is compiled for the information of all stations who took part in the DL-DX RTTY contest whether they sent in a log or not. It can be used or distributed in any way, such as magazine, Internet pages etc. as long as credit is given to "DL-DX RTTY Contest Group".

73 to all of you, thanks for participating and cuagn in 2005.

Goetz, DJ3IW for the DL-DX RTTY Contest Group.

CONTEST MANAGERS REPORT (german version)

DL-DX RTTY CONTEST GROUP (DRCG)

DL-DX RTTY CONTEST 2004

KONTEST MANAGER BERICHT

Kategorie A=104 Kategorie B=78 Kategorie C=55 Kategorie D=77 Kategorie E=6.

- 631 not-in log Fehler (+94%) !!
- 196 Doppelqso Fehler (+66%)
